The very wonderful Talavera and Pewter shop on Ave. 1 in Playa has shown my paintings for about a year but I decided that it was time to market my oil paintings and pastels more widely as my studio was getting crowded. So I spent three weekends before Christmas exhibiting my work at bazaars around town. At the first I sold a few, at the second I sold nothing, but at the third I began to make contacts. Five pieces sold, several people came to the studio to buy more and I got a commission for a larger painting.
Also, a friend has a gallery in Puerto Aventuras, a little south of Playa del Carmen, where I took some pieces and heard the next day that she had sold one. I guess it is time for me to display more regularly and give the public a chance to see my work.
